Reason for coming to the rescue: Filbert’s momma, Hazel, was a breeder surrender out of California. She was 1 of 15 dogs that were very anemic and underweight.  She gave birth at Panda Paws Rescue to 5 healthy puppies.

We adopted Filbert at around 10 weeks of age. He was our first puppy though we had had lots of experience with other animals. From the beginning he is always been very respectful of our cats ‘ space. Phil certainly wants to play and be friends with the cats but he reads body language and respects their space. Filbert is a delightful part of our family! He is so cuddly and truly all he wants is love and affection from anyone willing to give it. Since he is now potty trained, Phil sleeps in our bed and is the best snuggler ever! He is quick to learn, he knows: sit, wait, lay down, and shake. He taught himself fetch. He also caught onto walks quite quickly! Filbert has brought so much joy and comfort to our lives. He plays so well with other dogs with children and kitties. We can’t wait to see what our future holds with this special and sweet little dude
