Missy

Current name (changed): Maggie

Reason for coming to the rescue: Born in to rescue when you took in her pregnant mama. You adopted her out to someone else who worked in rescue but she couldn’t keep Maggie because of her other existing dogs. Instead of returning her to you (according to contract) she took her to a kill shelter in Washington somewhere. Someone else in the rescue world recognized Maggie at said shelter and apparently she was a day away from being put down because she is black. You ran and got her and put her back up for adoption. And then I found her/your rescue via pet finder.

Adoption Date: 2011

Maggie has been special to me from the start in 2011. She is the sweetest, most loving pup who needs her people and is so grateful for every pat, scratch, snuggle, and nuzzle. She became even more important in our family in 2013 when we adopted our then-four-year-old daughter, Faith— Maggie bonded with her hard, and I know helped our daughter through some sadness and any difficulties she had. Maggie is still with us today, and she remains Faith’s most loyal pal. She is the best swimmer, loves the snow, REALLY loves her oinking pig toys, loves to cuddle, is super soft and shiny, and she doesn’t care to be by herself for more than a minute or two. We love our Maggie, and I am grateful for her role in our home.
