Reason for coming to the rescue: Spanky was found wandering in the Mojave Desert.  It is not clear how long and whether or not being blind and deaf was the cause or effect of him being there.

You ask how I got my name?  My mom saw me wearing this adorable oversized sweater and she thought I was wearing pants.  Once she had me in her care, she realized I had an abundance of attitude that spilled out of my oversized sweater (which she thought were pants) this my furends, is the reason she calls me Mr Spanky Pants.  I now live in Illinois with my pack (that has changed over the years)  I am glued to my mom and help her through life.
